If you are going through a divorce, finding cheap divorce lawyers could be very important to you. I myself have gone through a divorce, and it was not at all a pleasant experience. But finding a cheap divorce lawyer should not be too difficult. There are many places to look for lawyers; lawyers usually spend a good deal of money advertising their services trying to take on new clients. In this article I will outline some useful tips for finding cheap divorce lawyers as easily as possible. Let's begin:

1.· Use The Services Directory In Your Phone Book -- Lawyers often advertise their services in the services directory of the phone book. I had no problem finding a list of five potential lawyers in my local phone book.

2.· Library -- This is often overlooked, but libraries usually have law directories where you can easily find the name and address of lawyers listed in it.

3. Referral Services -- You can use referral services to get leads on any type of service you could possibly think of. This includes lawyers, they can connect you with multiple lawyers pretty quickly.

4. Friends – It is a lot easier to go with a lawyer that was recommended by a friend. That way you know he or she is a decent lawyer, and your friend will likely be able to connect you to the lawyer rather than going out and searching for one yourself.

5. Lawyers.com -- This site makes it extremely easy to locate a lawyer in your area. You just enter in your state and city, and the site generates a list of lawyers in your area that you could get in contact with. They have attorneys of all different types, whether it be a criminal tax attorney, child custody attorney, or any others that you could think of, this place has it.

These tips should make it easier to find a cheap divorce attorney. What I did, was gather a list of divorce lawyers and contacted them all directly. Most of them scheduled an appointment with me to further discuss my case. I wasn't charged for any of these consultations, it was just so I could get a better idea of how they could help me, and so they could get a better idea about my case. I visited quite a few different divorce lawyers and ended up choosing the one that I thought would work best for me. I think they were probably all good lawyers, but I found the one I was most comfortable working with.
